Creating data suited for the Linked Data web
Converting existing datasets
ProXML can help you to convert your existing data whether they exist now in relational databases, spreadsheets, XML files, …
Whenever it is possible to export your data into an XML serialization, we can convert it into RDF. Remember we have more than 15 years of experience in data conversion using XML and SGML technologies.
Creating linked data from scratch
Our preferred editor for creating RDF is TopQuadrant Topbraid Composer.
It's also possible that we build a dedicated webapplication using Forms to create and edit your data.
Extracting structured data from non-structured sources such as HTML files, Word documents, emails, ….
We use text mining software to:
- categorize documents
- suggest meaningful tags
- extract and recognize mentions of known entities such as famous people, organisations, places, books, movies, genes, ...
- extract knowledge assertions
Choosing the right vocabularies
There are many vocabularies available to describe your data:
- Dublin Core: for describing a broad range of resources
- FOAF: for describing people, the links between them and the things they create and do
- CIDOC-CRM: for describing cultural heritage artefacts
- SKOS: for describing thesauri, classifications, subject headings, taxonomies, and folksonomies
- Europeana: for describing cultural heritage artefacts
- OAI-ORE: for describing aggregations
- OWMS: for describing publications of the Dutch government
- ...
We help you to choose the right vocabularies to publish your data on the web.
