I recently gave an evening conference for
SAI on
11 years of XML: its successes and its failures.
These were the slides used:

.
I was pleasantly surprised that this talk attracked so many attendees: almost 60, being a full house.
This really was beyond expectation, since I had the impression that XML has become a commodity, playing in the same league as ASCII and CSV, causing not much of an excitement anymore.
My guess is now that there were so many people due to experienced or perceived frustrations with XML.
What do you think?
